Scott Curley Sentencing Hearing to Begin Tomorrow
This Friday October 19th will be one week shy of 26 months since Kane County Deputy Brian Harris was killed while attempting to locate a fleeing subject near Fredonia Arizona.  The Subject, Scott Curley, from Fredonia Arizona, was wanted for a burglary and assault during the days leading up to the August 26, 2010 death of Deputy Harris.  Curley was captured three days later after a large manhunt by hundreds of law enforcement personnel from Utah, Arizona, and several federal agencies.  Curley has been housed in the Coconino County Arizona jail awaiting trial since then.
On September 21, 2012, Curley changed his plea to guilty on the charge of 1st degree felony murder, one charge of aggravated assault, and one burglary.
The sentencing hearing begins tomorrow, Thursday October 18, 2012, and is planned for two days at the Coconino County Court House in Flagstaff, Arizona.  The final decision on Curley’s future will then be in the hands of the judge.
Updates to this information will be made as it becomes available.
